Who We Are
We started Armada in 2024 to be the marine shop we'd use ourselves - small crew, big standards, and clear communication.
Two technicians and a full workshop. Out front there's parts, oils and rigging hardware; out back is the bench, the diagnostic gear, and the boats we're working on.
What we're authorised on
Yamaha Authorised Service and Repower Dealer Servicing, diagnostics, repowers and genuine parts. Warranty work carried out here rather than sent away.
Yanmar Authorised Service and Repower Dealer Marine diesel inboard, sterndrive and saildrive. Servicing, parts and full repowers.
Authorised Minn Kota Repair Agent Electric motors, mounts and wiring.
Everything else that comes through the door
We service and repair all makes and models of marine engines - outboard, sterndrive and inboard.
Being authorised on two brands doesn't narrow what we'll work on. If you've got a Mercruiser leg, a Suzuki on the transom or a Volvo Penta inboard, that's still us.
Repowers are the one exception. Any engine can come off; a Yamaha or a Yanmar goes back on.
How We Work
Diagnostics come first. We'd rather spend an hour finding out what's actually wrong than a day replacing things that weren't.
Computer diagnostics for Yamaha, Mercury and G1 Evinrude E-TEC. The rest we find the old way - compression, spark, fuel, and the experience to know which one to check first.
Then we tell you what we found, what it'll cost, and what we'd do in your position. If something doesn't need doing yet, we'll say so. The decision's yours either way.
The shop
Parts, oils, filters and anodes for the engines we actually see around here. Garmin electronics and Fusion audio. Hutchwilco life jackets, Railblaza mounts, Dometic chilly bins.
We've got scales on the counter, because kids' life jackets size by weight, not age, and it's worth getting right.
If we haven't got it, we'll order it in.

Most of our work comes from Napier, Hastings and Havelock North, and the boats launching along the coast. Plenty of people bring boats to us from further out, and that's fine by us.
Most leave the boat with us and collect when it's ready. We'll tell you what we find and keep you posted - what we won't do is guess at a finish date before we know what we're dealing with.
